How to Power Cycle my OBD DeviceUpdated 19 days ago

🔌 How to Power Cycle Your OBD GPS Device

If your miTrail GPS device isn’t reporting properly or appears offline, a quick power cycle may resolve the issue. Follow these simple steps to safely reboot your OBD device:

✅ Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Locate your OBD device.
Your GPS device is plugged into the OBD-II port of your vehicle, usually found beneath the dashboard near the steering wheel.

  2. Unplug the device.
Gently pull the device straight out from the OBD port. No tools are required—just a firm, steady hand.

  3. Wait 10 seconds.
This short pause allows any temporary errors or issues to clear from the device’s memory.

  4. Plug the device back in.
Reinsert the device into the OBD-II port until it fits securely. You should feel a slight click or resistance when it's fully seated.

  5. Drive your vehicle.
Once the device is reconnected, take your vehicle for a short 5–10 minute drive. This helps the GPS device re-establish connection and begin reporting again.
