Turning the Device On/Off

  • Power on:
    • Press and hold the power key for 3 seconds (PWR LED turns on).
    • Alternatively, connect the device to a charger (PWR LED turns on automatically).
  • Power off:
    • Press and hold the power key for 2 seconds (PWR LED flashes rapidly then turns off). The device may take up to 90 seconds to power off completely.

Motion Start/Stop

The MPT-5210 is a rechargeable and portable GPS tracker with a built-in accelerometer.

  • Motion Start: When motion is detected, the device starts tracking according to your chosen plan.
  • Motion Stop: If no motion is detected for four minutes, the device goes into sleep mode until the next scheduled interval (every 24 hours) or the next motion is detected.

Battery Life

Battery life depends on usage:

  • 2 days: Very active tracking
  • 3-5 days: Moderately active tracking
  • 7 days: Little to no activity tracking

How to Charge

  1. Connect the AC-DC power adapter to the MPT-5210.
  2. Plug the adapter into a power socket.
  3. During charging, the PWR LED flashes rapidly.
  4. When fully charged, the PWR LED stays solid.
  5. You can also charge using a USB cable connected to a PC.

Charging

  • Charging time: Approximately 5 hours
  • View battery level: miTrail mobile app or web platform

You can also sign up for email or push notifications to alert you when charging starts and when charging completes. Select an asset from your list and then navigate to the setup tab to set these up.

LED Status Lights

The LED lights indicate the status of your MPT-5210:

  • Green (flashing every 3 seconds): Device is on
  • Blue: GPS
  • Red: Power (PWR)
  • Green (CEL): Cellular connectivity (refer to miTrail resources for detailed information)
