Tracking Equipment That's Towed or MovedUpdated 4 months ago

Understanding Your Tracking Needs

If you're using our device to track equipment that is frequently moved or towed, you have two primary options to ensure accurate location data:

1. Continuous Tracking While in Motion:

  • Issue: Your equipment's location isn't updating regularly while it's being towed or moved.
  • Solution: You'll need to activate the "motion only" ignition setting. This setting will continuously track your equipment as long as it's in motion.
  • How to proceed: Contact our customer support team to request the "motion only" ignition setting be enabled for your device.

2. Alerts for Unexpected Towing:

  • Issue: You want to be notified if your equipment is towed without your knowledge.
  • Solution: Activate the "tow alert" feature. This will send you a notification if unusual movement is detected.
  • Important: Please note that the "tow alert" feature is designed to notify you of unexpected towing events. It does not provide continuous location updates like the "motion only" ignition setting.

Choosing the Right Option:

  • If you need to know your equipment's location at all times while it's in motion, the "motion only" ignition setting is the best choice.
  • If you primarily want to be alerted if your equipment is stolen or towed without your permission, the "tow alert" feature is suitable.
